hey i have a major oil leak.

a few people have suspected it to be my rear pan seal.

how easy is it to fix and is it cheap if i get it done in a garage?

Thats the rear main seal (Goes around the crank) means gearbox out, clutch/flywheel off etc. to replace it.. Probably have to replace the sump seal while you are in there (Best done on an car hoist).. Couple of hour job there..

Slipping clutch generally would mean yr getting oil on your pressure plate

which does indicate rear main.

the seal and oil carrier gasket itself is next to nothing.

but the time involved is ridiculous.

i'm no major mechanic but it took my a day to do.

i got quoted $300 for mine to get done so i did it myself.

so yr up for new seal and gasket and new clutch/pressure plate.

make sure you can get yr car high enough.
