ke20rolla Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 Hi thanks for the info about the needle and seat. The guy that i bought these carbies from had them reconditioned so i don't know exactly what was done to them. Also have heard that the webers need a fuel pressure of about 2.5 to 3 lbs which is critical, looked in the corolla workshop manual and the standard fuel pump puts out 2.8 to 4.0 psi maybe i need a fuel pressure regulator, not sure? Quote
Redwarf Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Wouldn't bother, on a standard fuel pump. webers aren't as critical as SU's in this respect. What it does need is dyno time. After having a number of weber powered engines I can tell you that you may think you have them right, but a dyno will really get them zero'd in. It is a must. You probably won't be able to have both trumpets and filters, as the filters have to go over the top of the trumpets. I hate to say it, one or the other. Quote
ke20rolla Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 yeah i am geting it put on the dyno in a couple of weeks. And also about filters, what i am going to do is remove the trumpets and put two air cleaners on instead 1 3/4" k&n's. Quote
Redwarf Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 For god sake don't get ramflo's. I wouldn't use them to filter urine. Quote
ke20rolla Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 I was going to get k&n's  Quote
LINDSAY Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Dude check out Unifilters website Unifilter and go through the menu to "products" to "Auto Sports & Racing" and finally "Weber/SU Throttle body Assembly Filters" These are the goods , i had these in my KE25 with that little amount of room Lindzzz Quote
tas_ae71 Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 (edited) what about motor bike fome sock style filter over the trumpets? they arnt that expensive (depending on brand) and they are easy to clean/oil should flow plenty enough for the amount a 4k would suck. philbey Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 unifilters prices for those socks are awesome! 57 bucks for a set of 4. Most joints charge about 45 bucks for 2! I notice that unifilter has replacements to fit the Ramflo filter units - that could be a good option, because they are usually quite low profile units. Quote
ke20rolla Posted April 7, 2008 Author Report Posted April 7, 2008 Hi, I have no room for those unifilter socks. I bought a set of 100mm one's but they won't fit, i am using 40mm trumpets and one of them is just clearing the srut tower by a couple of millimetres. Quote
philbey Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 damn man, if you get a bit of engine shudder happening (like if it starts dieseling on a hot day) you'll destroy those trumpets when they punch into the strut tower! In my list of many projects, I'm keen to make up an airbox to fit twin 40s into a rolla. Easy enough to lasercut and fold. Quote
