so after my girlfriend had her car for a week it did a head gasket. i have since replaced the head gasket and re-assembled the motor but I'm having problems getting it running again. when i go to start it, it will go under its own steam for only a second then make this killer screaming noise and misfire and rev to something crazy. i've checked all the vacuum lines as i first though it was a vacuum leak and still do but don't know where else it would leak from.

please help

p.s. i used all new gaskets and all the surfaces were clean so i just don't know

1. is the throttle cable caught outside of its runner? mine has done this a few times and will rev to about 4k

2. for the sqaueeling, is the alternator belt tight? that can cause squeeling
