aidaniel[RL] Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 so after my girlfriend had her car for a week it did a head gasket. i have since replaced the head gasket and re-assembled the motor but I'm having problems getting it running again. when i go to start it, it will go under its own steam for only a second then make this killer screaming noise and misfire and rev to something crazy. i've checked all the vacuum lines as i first though it was a vacuum leak and still do but don't know where else it would leak from. please help p.s. i used all new gaskets and all the surfaces were clean so i just don't know Quote
7shades Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 Did you get the head skimmed? Head gaskets very rarely blow of their own accord, usually there's another problem that caused it.. Quote
ajay Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 1. is the throttle cable caught outside of its runner? mine has done this a few times and will rev to about 4k 2. for the sqaueeling, is the alternator belt tight? that can cause squeeling Quote
