Jenbags Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 (edited) EDIT: I've moved this post to "Sound" but can't figure out how to delete this thread. Nooby mcnoob noob. Hi Guys, My lovely 2004 Corolla Ascent sedan's battery died on me earlier this week and took my stock stereo with it. I need a three digit pin to get back into the stereo. I have no idea what this is as I bought the car secondhand and the owner doesn't know what the pin is. Will I need to take it to a Toyota dealership or is there some sneaky way around it? Any help would be greatly appreciated :POSTPICS!: Cheers, Jenna P.s. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section, I'm a bit of noob atm. Edited May 7, 2008 by Jenbags Quote
ancullen Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 I had the same issue on my '03 Corolla. In the end I had to bite the bullet and pay the dealership to reset it. But before you do that, try some basic combinations like the last three digits of the VIN, or '123'. Apparently the default is meant to be the last three digits of the VIN. I think you get about six attempts before it locks you out, and if that happens, you definitely have to go to the dealership. Quote
Jenbags Posted May 7, 2008 Author Report Posted May 7, 2008 Thanks, I just tried the last three digits of the VIN but it didn't work. I've got one more go left before it locks me out :hmm: Quote
never Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 (edited) I am not sure if the dealer changes the pin when they receive the car or not but when they come from toyota they all have a pretty basic pin like 000 or 111, but seeings how it is your last shot you would probably want to be pretty sure about it. Gotta be someone on here who works for a toyota dealer... Edited May 7, 2008 by never Quote
