TOMsGPTurbo Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 (edited) The Tsunami that hit Asia was one of the worst natural disasters to occur in the Southern Hemisphere, however it was one of the best things to occur for science, before this Tsunami there haven't been a lot of footage of Tsunami's ... the only one that springs to mind is Alaska back in the early 60's? Personally I find the tragic event very interesting and amazing, I also find it very sad with over 150 000 people losing their lives. Some good sites with videos and photos: For Before & after satalite photos: Before & After photos Very good site and highly recommended. Waxy.org Good video site with a couple of vids Asian Tsunami Videos I can't get the video's to work, when they come back online - very good site to see the force of the waves. Crackers & Cheese (strange name but it has good vids) Notice the links from the pages above, you can follow them and find other vids etc. Edited January 15, 2005 by TOMsGPTurbo Quote
Medicine_Man Posted January 16, 2005 Report Posted January 16, 2005 Mother natures natural balance, sad, but not much anyone can do to stop it.. All I can say was it would have been very scary, heard a story through work, one of the businesses we work for does surf holidays, turns out he had a few bases around the place over there, one of his guides saw the ocean drain out and drove for the hills, wave still hit them though, rolled the car over and he had to break the glass to get out, clung to a tree or something, very close call..
