Sim Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 hey guys, I'm deciding on what i wanna use to upgrade the brake system on my '26 panelvan, iv worked out the rotor/disc side of it but havn't really thought about the hydraulics side of it yet. since my car never came out with a booster from factory and it will be running a 13BT ill be ditching the stock m/cylinder without question. I'm thinking of upgrading to a Hilux master cylinder and opting for a VH40 remote booster. where would be the best place to mount the booster so that its out of the way. if i had a boot i would most likely want to put it there but i haven't really got that option. i could possibly mount it behind the LH headlight but i don't want the engine bay to look over crowded :bash:. any input would be great. greenmac80 Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 Quick question.. how the heck do remote boosters work? Quote
Sim Posted June 2, 2008 Author Report Posted June 2, 2008 i couldn't tell you too be honest! i only want to opt for one as i there was barely any room in the bay, when the 13B was still in, with just the master cylinder in place, let alone having booster bolted to it. so relocating the booster to somewhere else is my only other real option. Ke10-Hoon Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Hi Sim, I'm running a 7/8 master cylinder from a 260 datsun (I think) with a VH40 remote booster in my Ke10. I'm only running the front brakes through the booster, so you also might like to do a google shearch for a Proportioning Valve (bias value). wilwood might also help. I mounted the remote booster under the dash on the passenger side. If you didn't look you would never notice it. The booster works the same way a normal booster does, just a little slower on the pedal. Quote
Sim Posted June 2, 2008 Author Report Posted June 2, 2008 thanks for the help Ke10-Hoon. i have been offered a 1" dual circuit wilwood master cylinder which would work well with the VH40 remote booster as i can run both the front and rear brakes on their own circuit. I'm considering purchasing it, just gona do a bit more reading up on it first. Quote
