  1. Your not normal, This is going to be a mission. I FU*KEN LOVE IT. respect!
  2. wow so close to the end..... well sort of. As i was reading through the posts i couldn't help but to laugh, not at you Davros, but at the small little problems the ke10's throw at you, like that dam sound deadener, and finding a small crack near the accelerator pedal!!, i tell you these's ke10's are all the same. Mounting the booster is the easy part, running those dam brake lines is the issue. Good times, good times..... hopefully sometime soon you will join up for a cruise, or even better a run down the creek. P.S. i recommend you check that the existing seat brackets are in good nick, when they snap its not pretty.
  3. Hi, I have a registered ke10 with a CA18DET. Getting the motor in is no problem, it’s all the other shit that comes along with it. All you really need to do is to raise the trans tunnel up by 80mm (approx) to get the motor to sit nice (Manual box). Do a search on my posts and you will find a thread on project. Best of luck with the build, keep posting up the progress.
  4. Great cruise once again. Going through the national park was a bit slow at first with Mick in the lead. LOL Any issues on the run back home boys? BTW, Marty, we all know that I would have beaten you if my Venations didn't fall down. Till we race again. Note: Ke10-Hoon does not condone any form of street racing or hooning. :) Unless he is in clear visible view of the sceptical.
  5. 50/50 for this one Mick. Got works christmas party on saturday night. Might be a messy one! I will let you know how I go.
  6. Hmmm, tough choice... I vote to get rims to suit the car rather than modifying the car to suit the rims. Iv'e managed to fit 215x60 under the rear & 195x60 on the front. The look your going for doesn't seem to have flared guards. None the less pumping the guards out would look sick. I'm of no use here on this topic..... The first photo is my car, the second photo is just wicked!
  7. Hi Robert, Heres some pictures of my setup. its a ke10. I had massive trouble with axle tramp. I first tried to stop the axle tramp with a stiff koni shock (end up getting it re-valved twice) then got new leaf springs made up with thicker mains, inverted eyes & an extra half leaf added to the front to stop the leaf spring winding up under load, but none of that stopped the axle tramp. Needless to say the ride is stiff, but this aint no limo. Finially I added the cal-tracks and they stopped all tramping & are by far one of the best things I have every added to my car.
  8. Nice 10 there. love the jap mirrors. You would be supprised how easy and inexpensive it is to get that type of coil over setup on your existing struts. A good suspension shop can place the thread sleave on the strut & then its only a new spring and bam 'adjustable coil overs'. What brakes do you think he has on the front? later model corolla?
  9. Thanks for everyone’s input, you have all put me back on track to finish this car off. However, after reading all the posts I have decided to leave the looks to last. Yeah I know the rims look shitty and a nice paint job will get heads turning but like 'Guest' said its a great feeling when you beat a shinny car, although they are travelling in comfort & safety (something that this corolla lacks). I would never go for a quick spray job. It would be a complete tare down, sand/media blastered and a top nock paint job to last for ever. (when I win the lotto that is). I want this car to fly. Let’s go for 11sec down the 1/4 mile or better. The car has recently developed an exhaust leak between the turbo and exhaust manifold. I can't get to the bolts to tighten then up, so I guess I will need to get a new steam pipe high-rise manifold (6boost maybe?) and new turbo. I was thinking a T2860RS (disco potato) or the GT2871R. Not cheap. Here is a close up photo of the master cylinders. A photo of the booster is on a previous post. How good do those seats look!! I have CRX seats in mine.
  10. Hi all, I was after some help with deciding what to do next with my KE10. First a little update. I added an custom overflow bottle & turbosmart blow-off valve and took her down the 1/4 mile. It ran a 13.1 @ 101mph on MT streets. I even got a wheel stand out of her. I'm at a point with the car where I don’t know what to do next. I was thinking of bigger turbo, after market computer, larger injectors and maybe a rebuild. Or I could also give her a respray & interior. The worst thing to come to mind is to sell my pride n joy. There is really three choices here. 1) work the motor 2) looks department 3) sell I know, I know do both 1 & 2 options. I'm after constructive ideas not 'yeah do the motor go hard'. I'm genually stuck. I always wanted an 11sec car (or better) but the money put to achieve this could go to towards a nice paint job/interior. I suppose it comes down to personal preference.
  11. Thanks mate, allot of late nights where spent on this car. Yes the eyes are reversed but I told the spring shop to maintain the standard height. Reversing the eyes gives you allot more stiffness in the leafs (less wind up of the leaf). I wouldn't have done this but it seemed like a possible solution to stop the tramping. What I should have done was get the dam cal-track install ASAP. Would have save me allot of cash as well. MT tires I found are a little loose on the street, not in grip wise but I think the sidewalls are soft and designed for maximum grip and not for any circuit type of use. When cornering it almost feels like the car sliding out. Its on 32psi, may be with more tire pressure this will solve the problem. Wasn't running them at powercruise. Hopefully within the next 2 weeks I will take her down the quarter mile for the first time, that will really test the MT tires out... cheers, Vlad.
  12. Hi, it was so bloody hot out there & the marshals pushing for us to get the cars into pit lane wasn't helping. I didn't even get a chance to ask about you ride. Do you have a thread on it? Yeah that was me. I was very happy with the car. Didn't overheat (many V8's can't say that but then again i'm not making big power), brakes were good, no weird noises, NO tramping & NO TRACTION!!!!! (should have run the slicks, but where is the fun in that!) Entered the drags only to lose to a Ford XR8 98ish ute & a white Holden Torana. I was impressed with the handling & driveline but its only left me wanting more power. I can't let them V8's bet me now can I.
  13. Great work keep it up. I never thought i would say this... but i'm in love with those carbie's. Smick job.
  14. Alot. $1600 installed. The unit alone cost around the $900 mark. I had the shits with my original setup so forked out the cash and got it done right and for all. You can get them from any good brake shop like B&R, rare spares etc. Yeah you can run it boosted but it needs to be remote. The Ke10 don't have a booster standard. Here a pic of my remote Booster mounted under the dash on the passenger side. Its out of a 1999 Hilux I think. I got the recipet around here somewhere with the year on it. Putting a Hilux diff in a Ke30 without shorting it... never heard of that. You would still need to stuff around with the mounts. Not to mention the very important pinion angle. What year diff was that out of?
  15. LOL. Building a car isn’t about buying the same part two times, but rather buying the same part for a 3rd time only to replace again down the track because of other unforseen modification. This wagon rocks.
  16. Check out these beauties. Being Valentines day and all i thought i might buy my partner something nice. one word - 'Sick'
  17. Lol. The engineer I used is on the RTA board for NSW. Everything was by the book. All though i did take a few things out later on. e.g. Pollution gear. Nah. It's at standard height. Can't go to low. Not because of the wheels but the tailshaft & diff would hit first.
  18. Sweet. Go the CA18. Will the standard motor handle the 75 shot for long?
  19. The caltracs were $1100 installed. The guy custom makes them for each car. These are the best thing you can add to any car with tramping issues. You can also get them from Caltrac racing from america and mod them here for around $800 including delivery. Yep, Iv'e been on two cruises with Mic (radrollaz) before and will be again. Thanks again for all the positive comments.
  20. Thanks for all the kind feedback, it just geez me up more. What pedal box is that? cheers! - 26rolla Its a tilton peddle box. Looks like a pretty decent build. But I'm mystified by why you'd run such a heavy rear spring rate, most 5 tonne trucks have springs that heavy. How's the traction in this thing? - beerhead I was getting a huge amount of axle tramp. The leaf spring would always wind up. At first i thought it was the shocks, so I played around with them first. I was told stiffer was better (yeah... not for my arse). With the Koni shocks you can change the valves. Originally it was around the 300ish mark, then changed again to 450ish (can't really remember). It seam to help a little with the tramping, so i up'd the rate again to what it is now. It will be changing again. LOL. But the ride is very stiff. The cal-tracks stoped the tramping. Traction wise is fine if your not hard on the throttle. Never seen anything quite like it. Any numbers on it yet?? - 67Rolla-Ken If you mean 1/4 mile times. No. I'm still waiting for the slicks to come in, and a overflow bottle. nice, engineered? - Jono Yes.
  21. Hi, I was only going to post my car when it was painted and completed, but thats never going to happen. A project car is never done. I will spare you all with in 'in the build pictures' untill later (there's heaps). It was stock standard when I first got the car. I was going for a tuff street sleeper car. 22. How & where does this swaybar mount onto? I don't think thats the actual product in the picture.
  23. Hi, As per the above post, Dunadan has it all correct. The dash is also ke10. The white boot badge i've never seen before. Ke11's boot badge is alot smaller and more oval shape. The black boot badge is Ke10, I have the same one on mine. Cheers,
  24. Hi all, I managed to fit the Ca18 in my ke10, All in all headaches. The tunnel needs major surgey, but it does fit. The gear stick ended up being approx 2mm away from the handbarke in 4th gear. You really need to get the Ca20 box, or even better a S12 or early S13 (intercolled version) these had a shorter gearbox of approx 150mm. If you where in syd you would have be able to see the car at the next radrollz cruize. Cheers,
