Medicine_Man Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 f@$king dodgy bastards at Deception Bay **** & **** Electrics are a bunch of wankers, had my alternator exchanged 13 months ago. In That time it took me 6 months to motivate myself to fit it (Was sitting in a cupboard in the shed). Finally one weekend I got the motivation to fit it and a few months later it shat itself while I was on the way to work. Being under the 12 month warranty period I took it back and left it with them. When I went back to pick it up the slack f@$kers were just finishing fixing it. Left them a whole week to do it. They replaced the regulater while i was waiting (which should have been in overrated condition). Put the f@$ker back on again and same story, another few months and its shat itself again, took it back this morning and asked them to refund my money (giving them the alternator back), they refused, asked them to re-warrant it for 12 months, they refused, I left it at that and told them I'd never recommend anyone to them and walked out. Took it to an auto-electrician across the road from work and he pulled it apart in front of my own eyes, he showed me some wires inside that were not fully insulated that should have been glued down to stop them from shorting on the insides. also the shaft was flopping around like a cock in a sock, they should have fixed that too. he quoted me $165 for a brand new 55A alternator (2 years warranty) my old one was only 40A, f@$k i got done by the other c**ts :KY: Quote
irokin Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 BUGGER!! Theres too many dodgy bastards out there...last time my altenator was going me and my dad rebuild it somewhat ourselves. Thats the only way to avoid those cheap bastards. Quote

Medicine_Man Posted November 11, 2003 Author Report Posted November 11, 2003 I'm going to see if this other auto-electrician can write me up a statement about the condition of the alternator, already sent and e-mail off too see what I can do about these arseholes.. Quote

CereaL Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 Its $155 + 1 days lost wages to have to go into court.. Erm small claims is $155??? I thought it was like $30 or some shit like that .. before you go there .. just make sure you have evidence and shit against them .. try to get as much as you can about it .. the judge will be more in ur favour that way :KY: Quote
Medicine_Man Posted November 12, 2003 Author Report Posted November 12, 2003 $155 is what i paid to get the exchange alternator, apparently small claims is between $20-40 to initiate.. Quote
Medicine_Man Posted November 12, 2003 Author Report Posted November 12, 2003 Got a call back from the Department Of Fair Trading, he suggested that I get something out of them in writing as to why they didn't refund my money or re-warrant the alternator.. then submit the report from the other auto electrician to him and go from there..
