They're under no obligation to provide quality control (unless its governed by law e.g. baby capsules), it's an entirely optional thing. Mind you if you don't have quality control your product isn't worth the material its made out of. The rods are fit for purpose, they'll hold standard power at least. There will be no implied or expressed warranty for the rods, especially for modified motors. The difference in quality will be in the balance and consistency rod to rod.

BANG ON!! I work in this field, and you read on the box of every piston set that we modify it will state "this product is for off highway use and carries no expressed warranty except for faults in workmanship" it says the same on our clearance spec sheet. And its easy to say that its detonation from the other side of the world to.

Personally in a car engine i would not use a Wiseco part in a std 2K, I built a R33 GTR engine for a mate he supplied me wiseco pistons, it makes 400awkw or 850hp at the flywheel and they lasted about 6 weeks and the skirts had shrunk 20thou and the pins were 3thou oval. They just don't make them thick enough for boost applications. They replaced the pistons and again lasted about 6 weeks and same happened. We made thick skirt pistons and now no problems but that would also happened with most of the other US made parts eg. CP, JE, ARAIS and ROSS they are all quality made parts and all these brands are still quite cheap.

The spool rods are a good quality part for the price too.

I do make forged pistons but they are not cheap $1300-1350 for a 4cyl set, this is because they are a custom made part not production run.

Special piston services (03) 9793-1110 My bosses name is colin he does all the ordering etc.

Good luck.

stu.

ps. I don't have much internet access so if anyone is interested in pistons please call and speak to colin, and not pm me as i might not get back to you for a fair while.
