what are the chances one of our kiwi brothers or sisters , or those lucky enough to have encountered early starlets could tell me

 

is a KPxx STARLET crossmember interchangeable with a KExx SERIES COROLLA???

 

 

or failing anyone having the experience in this matter, could someone measure the distance between the rails on a KPxx starlet for me.

 

this would be of much assistance, and if it works, i will let you know my plan.

A guy in the states has a kp61 x-member, steering rack and aw11 column in his te27. His website has been down for awhile but there's a mirror on archive.org. Unfortunately, a lot of the images are missing.

sweet, i've been looking on club-k and couldn't get this link to work, thanks mate.

 

the whole r/p steering seems complicated when i read the conversion into ta22 thread on here...

 

i would have thought it would be a sweet bolt up job no probs...

 

oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained.

if you're doing the swap for r/p, go the whole 9 yards and find a group N starlet for the conversion ;)
