Hi Rollaclubbers, Come down to Kebab Joint THURSDAY 8TH MAY on the corner of Springvale Road and Princes Hwy, Springvale at 6pm for a meet and greet/catchup. Opportunity to go for a cruise afterwards if time and weather permit. Kebabs and drinks are available for those inclined to like a Late Night Lamb Sandwich. Let’s see how many corolla’s we can get to rock up. Feel free to invite other old school /interesting Jap cars, or bring your other car if your project isn’t up and running yet. fix the manifold gasket first. you won't be able to set your carb because the engine is sucking air in from the gap in the manifolds. this is why your car won't run or idle properly. it's about a 10dollar gasket. even just tightening the manifold bolts a littls might be enough to get a better result.

check your vaccum advance on the dizzy isn't messing with your base settings.

sad to say it, but nissan TIIDA are good and cheap. 15 inch, shite offset, but can be put into 15x8 bands.

Spread the word people, tomorrow night meetup. also it looks like we might do this next week as well, we might have an international visitor who has a sweet 4 door ke20 who would like to meet some Corolla owners from Victoria, so put it in your phone...

I love your car. it looks pretty damn fantastic for its age. sounds like yours will soon end up looking like your neighbours after a bit of work. sounds awesome what you have planned. 0.8mm, or the thickness of a regular credit card...

not many (if any) ke70's came out in Aus with chrome bumpers. overseas models had them, which is why they're rare. t18 ones can be made to fit the front easily, not so much the rear.

if you undo the gearbox mount bolts, you can jack the back of the box up a bit to tilt the engine away from the firewall to make a bit more room.

Awesome turnout last night, weather turned out good and some great cars attended including some I wouldn't have guessed in a hundred years would rock up. If anyone has photos that they can put up, that would be awesome. we had ke10, ke15, ke20 (x2), ke30, ke70, panda ae86 levin notchback, ep starlet, caldina, Hendo's skyline, a swedish moosemobile, then later in the night a corolla was swapped for a honda before a leisurely cruise up and over mt. dandenong. on the way back down, a Nissan Patrol joined in the fun and we had a chat at the servo down the road where they told us none of their mates liked going out cruising anymore, so they were glad when they saw us out and joined in. I'd like to run another one of these soon, hopefully every 3-4 weeks unless people want more. Thanks again to all who came and for making it a great night.

I wouldn't think the cops will rock up, and even if they did, we shouldn't have any problems.
