  1. Hey everyone, Just a question has anyone got a go to place/site for their carby needs for their KE10? I'm looking at one on Mikes Carburetor parts and I'm seeing if anyone has used it before and if its any good. I have had some issues with my carby, I think the accelerator pump has one to heaven thus causing a flat spot/stumble/hesitation. If not does anyone has any good recommendations? I'm not sure if its allowed but ill post the link so you can see whats in the kit. http://www.carburetor-parts.com/Toyota-Carburetor-Kit_p_4426.html Once again, hopefully this can be answered which will give other members a great place to check and provide them with the information they are looking for. Regards Fallen1
  2. Hi all, I'm pretty new to this, thanks in advance for bearing with me. I've just bought my first corolla, beautiful 1981 ke55. It drove the two hour trip home without too much hassle. One issue though: with the choke on, it idles just fine (high of course). But no matter how warm she is, as soon as I back the choke off, she shakes and stalls. Also backfires when I take off the choke, and will stall with the clutch in without choke on even at highway speeds. Having a search on rollaclub, people suggested it could be an unplugged fuel solenoid causing the issue. Looking at my carb, it seems like the wire on the end of the solenoid has been cut, and the corresponding green plug in the engine bay isn't plugged into anything. Should I be looking at the solenoid at this point? Thanks for having me, looking forward to getting her running nicely, and learning the basics. cheers
  3. Hi guys new here any of your knowledge appreciated. i have a 94 toyota seca liftback had new head fitted after crack in the previous one COSTLY. about 9 months later a heater hose blew but car did not overheat.Hose replaced all good. Problem I'm having is very hard to start first thing have checked plugs etc, also whatever it is affects the idling it's way high up to 2000rpm sometimes drops as engine warms up not always. also losing coolant very slowly no sign of where from no sign in oil and no visible leaks.also when first fires very rough for the first 5-10 seconds then ok. ANY IDEAS ?
  4. I've started another topic because I've created another issue. Though someone may know how to do this properly. I was playing around with my idle and mixer screw on my carby today as I've messed things up in the past. I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing. I have a small bump at low RPMs, and I think I created it by messing with these screws. I realize this could be a myriad of things but I'd like to focus on this for now. On my 4KC carburetor there are three screws. A Fast Idle Screw andIdle Speed Screw and a Mixer Screw. (Photo below, couldn't find a better diagram). How do I coordinate the adjustment of these three screws to set these correctly. Where should the idle be when setting the mixer screw for example? What do I do with the Fast Idle Screw? etc. etc.
  5. I'm having issues with my idle, it's jumping around between 600 and 1000 rpm all new plugs, dizzy, leads, coil, points, rotor, reconditioned carby about 8000 kms ago. What would be causing it?? Would it be vacuum related? By the way it's a 1978 ke55 4kc with a 5 speed And after market air filter and I changed the oil/filter about an hour ago no difference
