chester_fb Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 (edited) hey everyone, i've put a weber on my ke70 and have various problems so far but now have managed to get it idling (if you would call it that) it has massive jets in it 160 for primary and secondary, not sure what they should have for a 4k does anyone else? i havent played with the idle adjustment screw yet as it got dark soon after it was idling. anyway would just like a hand to understand why it is idling like this, if its just running to rich? or some other problem http://www.soundupload.com/audio/95a7c053gigr833b that is the sound file cheers everyone Chester Edited August 21, 2008 by chester_fb Quote
Felix Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 It is pig rich. Is it a 32/36 DGV? Have a look here. From the base line jetting, I'd drop the primary idle jet one size for starters and then go from there. Quote
chester_fb Posted August 20, 2008 Author Report Posted August 20, 2008 ok i thought it was that umm not sure what kind of weber it is, ive posted some pics if that helps anyone determin what it is Also it has a tag on it that says "weber 84 DA SB A 4 K 26" Quote
Felix Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 Doesn't look like a DGV. Could be an ADM from a Falcon. Have a look around the base of the carb for an ID number. Usually webers have the ID stamped into it. Pic gives you an idea of where to look. Quote
chester_fb Posted August 20, 2008 Author Report Posted August 20, 2008 CHEERS MATE! its a ADM 34, now i can get some jets for it thanks again chester Quote
Felix Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 No worries. An ADM is way to big for a 1.3L 4k. Personally I'd be looking for something better sized. Quote
chester_fb Posted August 20, 2008 Author Report Posted August 20, 2008 its gonna be turbo in the near future :sob: Quote
Felix Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 I'm sure it will be fine under full throttle full boost conditions. If you drive it on the road you spend more time off boost cruising... That's where a smaller carb would give you better economy, responsiveness, and allow the motor to come on boost quicker. A 32/36 DGV would be better choice. Quote
chester_fb Posted August 20, 2008 Author Report Posted August 20, 2008 I intend on driving it full boost, full throttle for the time that it is on the road :sob: Quote
irokin Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 Just ask Xany about how fantastic a 34ADM is on a K... Quote
chester_fb Posted August 21, 2008 Author Report Posted August 21, 2008 ok well i've put smaller jets in, and it still has the exact same problem anyone got any other ideas? Quote
