greenmac80 Posted August 22, 2008 Author Report Posted August 22, 2008 ahh i see it wont come out of the sleeve from here ^ Have you undone the cups that go over the threads? Like a cup with a bolt through it. Try and screw it in further first one or two threads then soak it with lube/ tap it with a hammer a few times then try undoing... yeah thats it. yeah tried hammer and tried going both ways and i've been steadily spraying it with crc since last wkend. gonna give it another shot tomorrow. man i hate old stuff! new is sooo much better! Corolla1 Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 try not to use "Levers" as they can damage parts. Use "Pullers" a 100mm 2 or 3 jaw puller will do the job. i just did them all on my car. Quote
love ke70 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 I'm sorry, but how does a puller help undo a threaded object? i think your thinking of the balljoints? and lovely car but was the pic relevant? why not put it in your avatar :P cheers, andrew Quote
love ke70 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 oh and for the record, best way of splitting a balljoint out its hole, undo the nut just past the top of the thread, put a puller on it, tension it up, then hit it with a hammer. never fails :P Quote
greenmac80 Posted September 5, 2008 Author Report Posted September 5, 2008 well after 2 weeks of soaking in water dispersent i finally got the f$er out! still took a lot of effort but i got there! Quote
