Taking Off Door Strips

should i take off my door strips? or leave them there so i don't need to wrap my car in bubblewrap when i park it....???

 

will it leave a sticky stripe across the panels?

 

same with pinstriping.... whats the best method to remove 20yo pinstriping?

I found pin stripes came off easily after a wipe over with kero - softens the glue. Then you will need to clean the area (maguires paint cleaner is great) because the paint under the stripes will be different to the rest of the car.

 

Or you could just chew the stripes off - hook a fang under one end and start nibbling.

 

The paint colour difference will be even more obvious under the door strips.
