Cam And Crank Adjusting

hi guys sorry to be a pain,

 

last week i was adjusting my dizzy and i acedently pulled it out and had my brother crank the engine and lost the timing completly

 

so now i had to set it manually but it doesnt wasnt to start, cause I'm unsure of the ignition timing

 

btw its a t-18 runing a 3t-c

Using the dizzy cap as a guide put a mark for the position off the lead for cylinder 1 on the dizzy. Now spin the motor over to set the motor at 10 deg BTDC. Pull off the rocker cover and make sure that cylinder 1 is on rock (both valves shut) spin the motor over and make sure you're definitely on the fire stroke of the first cylinder. When you insert the dizzy it'll rotate a little because of the angular cogs, so you need to rotate it a little one direction before inserting to get it to line up right. Should be able to get it close enough to be able to get the motor to run, then use a timing light to get the timing spot on, might be out a tooth or 2 on the dizzy. Hope this helps :y:
