poider Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 Hello, Iam not sure if this forum is approprite for my problem, allthough I do own two Toyotas, a yaris and an aurion, my son owns a mitsubishi colt, 81 model. He has had it for about 1 year, and has barely started it due to his lack of licence. I attempted to jump start it today with my aurion, the starter motor turns over sometimes fast sometimes slow but it will not start, i don't know what is wrong and i am not the most mechanical minded person, but it seems to me that the petrol is not getting through to the engine coud this be the problem and what do you suggest to help. please Thank you, poider Quote
Medicine_Man Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 If it is going slow then fast it could be an indication that it has lost compression on one or more cylinders. Quote
Corolla1 Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 Get a little bit of fuel and tip it down the carb, (a tiny splash) If it splutters or runs for a second you know its a fuel related problem. (check fuel pump, filters and lines) Cheers Jarrod. Quote
