Does anyone know where Toyota printed/inscribed the transmission & differential codes on their transmissions & differentials? I've had a (quick) glance under my car to look for them, but due to the level of mud & dirt that has built up there, I'm not sure if I'm looking in the right places.

 

NOTE: This is for a KE55 Corolla. I think it has standard diff (I don't know what code that's meant to be) but I'm not sure what sort of gearbox it has. Any help is appreciated.

Plate on the side of the engine bay. It will be in code. Check http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Pit/997.../AxleCodes.html to decode it.

 

Transmission codes arnt on there I don't think. Unless its a transaxel?? It should be very easy to tell what type of box it has. If its stock and a 4 speed its a K40. If its 5spd it will be a K50...

gearbox is usually on there too, K40 or K50
