Falken_KE30 Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 Just curious if there is a difference between temp senders and gauges between the 3 and 4k models? Just wondering as ive got my going and after sitting for a while the temp go right up to the last white line just before it goes red. BUT, the motor is warm to touch the water isnt boiling and it don't feel hot. After a couple hard revs or a quick drive it starts to smell a bit hotter, but still not so hot you can't even touch anything for a split second. Have spoke to a member here, and he also has same probs with temp reading hi.. any thoughts? :laff: Quote
JiP Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 There is a difference. I noticed it when I stuck my 5K into my KE30 (4K went out) So I assume all K engines have different temp senders. Just stick the 3K?? one in. Whatever the car came with. Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted October 22, 2008 Author Report Posted October 22, 2008 thats the thing, i dunno which is which!! I got a KE55 dash in me KE30, and the motor is a mix of like 4 k motors lol.. i know the water sensor has 2 on it though.. only one is connected as my loom only has 2 wires.. Quote
JiP Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 I'd say track down a 3K sensor and give it a go. What type of speedo cluster do you have?? Early 30 or 55?? Quote
greenmac80 Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 find out what year your dash is approx. and buy the corresponding sensor. Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted October 22, 2008 Author Report Posted October 22, 2008 how can i tell? Ive seen 30's and 55's with my dash, stuff knows what the cluster is out... afaik the 30's cluster only went to 99999Km on the odo, and the 55 goes to 999999, if thats the case my cluster is from a 55 cause it has 230000+ kays on it.. greenmac80 Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 yeah you must have the 55 dash. i think there are only 2 listings in the books that sprints use. buy both? and see which one works better? Quote
