Jason KE30 Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 hey everyone for some reason my rear right hand indicator keeps cancelling out while i'm driving so i have to get out of the car, take keys out ignition, open boot, put keys back in ignition and switch it to accessories, turn on indicator, hit the indicator mount a couple of times till it comes on again then it just happens again and again i've checked all the wiring and nothing is shorting out is there something wrong with the globe or the globe mount?? Medicine_Man Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 bad connection to frame, would be at the bulb holder.. Quote
Jason KE30 Posted December 18, 2008 Author Report Posted December 18, 2008 ok so how do i fix it?? Quote
Medicine_Man Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 It's not exactly rocket science, somewhere between the bulb and the holder there is increased resistance or it is going open circuit, Either due to a build up of shit/corrosion, The bulb is not tight in its holder, The spring pressure is not strong enough to hold the contact against the globe or a wire is plain and simply not making correct contact. By hitting it you are making something move and make contact, Think about it for a second. You fix it by using your eyes to find where the problem is, Or get a test light and trace the path of the indicator light wiring to see where it is going open circuit. Quote
Jason KE30 Posted December 18, 2008 Author Report Posted December 18, 2008 ok i've fixed it i hope there was corrosion on the globe like you said so i just sprayed a bit of wd40 and replaced the globe damn i feel like a dickhead lol Quote
