Tragilgas Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 Hi All, This is my first post on rollaclub and i'm also pretty new to corollas so forgive me if the following post comes across as dumb :S I've got an AE92 Corolla CS Limited hatchback with the 4AF carby engine and a 5 spd manual box. Recently i've been thinking about the idea of turning it into a quick little sleeper for a bit of fun on the street (no track driving planned). My budget is pretty limited, and i would prefer to spend around 5 grand all up or less would be even better.... not sure if this is possible for what i want the car to do: I'm hoping for something around the 150kw at the wheels mark or a bit more that would still be practical enough for a daily driver. So just wondering what would be the best options? I was thinking maybe a 4AGZE conversion, but am not too sure as I don't know enough about doing up corollas yet. What do you reckon? All of the work will need to be done professionally because to be honest I have hardly any mechanical experience or tools. So if anyone can recommend somewhere close to Canberra that are half decent that would be awesome as well! Thanks for your help! :y: Quote
MYSTIK[RL] Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 best option is to sell your current car and buy one thats already been converted, it works out a hell of alot cheaper in the long run. plus a stardard 4agze wont net you 150kw at the wheels :y:. Quote
redae71 Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 yeh i thought about doing something like this to my girlfriends car, same spec as urs... going from carby to efi is no easy feat as you need to put in a whole new fuel system, fuel lines, etc... computer.... wiring.... ive done a ca18det conversion to my ae71 corolla (was 4ac carb) and so far including buying the car its cost over 10 grand... but thats a bit harder than dropping in a same family engine... sell ur ae92 and buy an ae93 with 4age from factory... then if you still want to you can turbo/supercharge it Quote
