skids Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 hey guys I'm sure this has been covered but could not find anything threw the search. I'm chasing a diff centre (open wheeler) as my ke20 has a locked diff. I keep seeing that the ke20's came out with 2 different sorts of diffs, how can i tell the difference between them without pulling it apart hopefully? Anyhelp would be great. thanks. Quote
KEI069 Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 borg warner has a removable backing plate and jap diff unbolts from the front, has a smooth housing when looking at it from the back of the car. Quote
skids Posted January 31, 2009 Author Report Posted January 31, 2009 cool thanks very much. i now no i have a jap diff. dunno if thats good or not. Quote
styler Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 (edited) jap banjo diff - easy to change centres borgwarner - pain to change centres borgwarner could possibly be stronger by a small amount if any but its only a rumour as far as i know, so you are better off with jap banjo in my opinion as both types arent strong at all really and the jap banjo diff centre is way easier to change, 100kw driving hard but not driving harshly would be the limit to a reliable jap banjo / borg warner diff i suppose?
