KE70MAN Posted April 27, 2005 Author Report Posted April 27, 2005 what would be needed to build up an efi unit? i mean, this is how i look at it.. weld up four pipes, ends going to the engine of course, and the other ends meeting up into a plenum- thats the basic manifold there. shouldnt be to hard to do, if u copy like the old manifold end that goes onto the engine(dunno what its called) and then its basic welding. then all thats needed is like afm, throttlebody, injecters (maybe off sum gay 1.5lt engine? get extra power) and maybe even the same ecu that u got the injecters from.. the only thing that i see that maybe a bit challenging is cutting holes, and welding in dies in the manifold for the injecters to go into.(like placement of injecters on the manifold??) there are also little things such as fuel pumps, lines, filters etc etc but I'm sure, if it were a DIY job that most could be re-used or scraped off old cars(get most of it from a wrecker) if i can get my mate to help me weld up the manifold, and i do a bit of calculating, i WILL do this as a project. don't worry, i will document it with lots of photos! love to hear what u all think.. Cheerz Carl :D Quote
