with my aisan, it ran pretty rich at idle. if i drove around normally it would pop and splutter after a few days. a good few 8000rpm runs would clear it right up again

true that. though shitty fuel or excess crankcase vapours could cause problems. this happens on old worn 4AGs as they don't have a pcv valve or filter, you can actually wipe the oil out of the intake plenum after it's been sitting overnight

I've ran both my KE30's on ULP for a while now without the fuel additive and they seem to be fine. No pinging or overheating :P

 

My old mans VH commodore stock 202 was pinging for a while and he just put some octane booster in and it seemed to have fixed it

hehe hence why iv fitted a catch can, after having the intake off and seeign the crap in there..... but it hasnt coked up the combustion chamber
