Super Jamie Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 with my aisan, it ran pretty rich at idle. if i drove around normally it would pop and splutter after a few days. a good few 8000rpm runs would clear it right up again Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 yeah carbs i can understand, a late model EFI wont coke up unless theres something wrong. you shoud be able to nana it for its entire life with no coking problems.... Quote
Super Jamie Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 true that. though shitty fuel or excess crankcase vapours could cause problems. this happens on old worn 4AGs as they don't have a pcv valve or filter, you can actually wipe the oil out of the intake plenum after it's been sitting overnight Quote
Trent-KE30 Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 I've ran both my KE30's on ULP for a while now without the fuel additive and they seem to be fine. No pinging or overheating :P My old mans VH commodore stock 202 was pinging for a while and he just put some octane booster in and it seemed to have fixed it hope this helps Cheers Trent Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 you can actually wipe the oil out of the intake plenum after it's been sitting overnight hehe hence why iv fitted a catch can, after having the intake off and seeign the crap in there..... but it hasnt coked up the combustion chamber Quote
