I'm about to buy a set of camshafts for my 4age 20v blacktop there going to be 272 with 8.5 lift .would i have to change the springs ? and is that the best profile for hill climbs as i want a lot of bottom end power

valve springs should be fine if your staying within the standard rev limit.

as you may have already found 20v's do tend to lack bottom end grunt, a short diff ratio/smaller tyre diameter would help keep revs up.

i would have thought and in my experience that i don't use the bottom end revs (below 4,000) at all on hill climbs or the power dies. i am running a 290degree cam tho :hmm: but its great fun

either thats a matter of opinion or you have driven engines with a worse setup than mine. I find my engine and a friends have stacks of low down power. Did the 20's you drove have a good tune with an aftermarket ecu?
