nikctime21 Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 (edited) I planning on building a turbo onto the side of my 5K with a blow through setup onto a 32/36. I just wondering if anyone has done this before and has any advice, also I'm looking at the moment for ideas on a turbo hat for the top of the carby that i can put the piping into. I'm really looking for some good blow through pictures and hat ideas, ive read through the big turbo thread but want some more ideas if anyone has them At the moment its probably gonna be a bit backyard with a j pipe and a small turbo running about 7-8PSI as I'm not touching the head yet. Cheers :P Also just quickly does anyone know if a 32/36 shares the same shape for an air filter as any holleys or something as this will give me more options Edited July 21, 2009 by nikctime21 Quote
Taz_Rx Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 K&N make only make that hat for the top of holleys, as you've probably found. BUT, they do make an adapter ring which bolt to the top of a 32/36 making it the same as the top of a holley so you can then bolt that hat straight on. :P Expect to pay around $400 for the whole lot though. If you've got a mate who's handy with a welder then you can make your own much cheaper. Quote
philbey Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 Yeh the price for those K&N units is diabolical. You're probably better off looking for a van hat you can modify to suit. 10 bucks and some backyard engineering.... Quote
nikctime21 Posted July 21, 2009 Author Report Posted July 21, 2009 Yeh thats what i found so i think ill stick to using my mig. Ill try make something similar to a gas hat or just get something from pick a part and modifiy it as best i can. I would of though that it wouldn't be to hard to get a gas hat type fitting for a 32/36 as they are a common carby Quote
philbey Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 True, given the number of poxy old falcons running gas it shouldn't be too hard. Quote

I just want a setup where i don't have to have the throttle linkages etc running through the inlet. Ill make a trip to pick a part this weekend and see how i go finding one! Quote
