ROLLN'03 Posted June 6, 2005 Report Share Posted June 6, 2005 You wouldnt believe the find i found this weekend? Went to the wreckers: HEAVEN i found a 1ggze engine, no gearbox or computer.... Me - looks at rolla, looks at engine, looks at rolla, looks at engine... 24valve straight six, supercharged! YUMO also, i found a set of k series extractors for $55.00, SWOOP! and to end the day in delight: - a 4k engine a 5spd k series gearbox and a 5k engine.... + i got offered a set a twin webbers.... Super Jamie Posted June 6, 2005 Report Share Posted June 6, 2005 the thing with second hand extractors is, usually the middle pipe has bent out, and you get manifold sealing issues. or they've warped so slightly from a poorly hung exhaust and they're a bitch to get on and off the engine, and to co-operate with the inlet manifold that being said, i've had two sets of extractors on 4 different engines and exhausts and i've managed to do it. running a single piece extractor gasket is a good idea, you can get one of these at an exhaust shop. the asbestos ones are better than the metal ones however, the biggest help is changing all your manifold bolts to studs and nuts. i've stripped out enough threads and wasted so much time getting extractors on and off, i'd never run bolts again Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
