hi ive been reading and I'm a lil confused I'm thinking of buying a ke30 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=33399 to be exact and was wondering how much work is evolved in changing the engine to a 4k or 5k don't really wanna put in a 7k not the best with a welder any help would be greatly appreciated. i love the old school cars currently building a 308 lj and really wanna build a rolla so if you guys can help would be much appreciated.

Changing to a 4/5K is very simple.

 

Step 1: Take K/3K out

 

Step 2: Fit 4/5K

 

Same mounts, same hoses, same everything. Only work you may have is mods to the new engine (intake, dizzy/EFI).

 

As long as the new engine isn't running EFI or anything it's a straight swap.

There's a 5K for sale on here at the moment, in Adelaide, 400 bucks.
