basically it has a light that flashes to tell you whats wrong.

drove it the other night and it drove alright but only on 3.5 cylinders, found out yesterday one of the injector plugs had fallen off causing it to run rough as.

then we measured all of the valves clearances to try and shutup the valve tapping,

we ground down some of the shims so the gaps are correct now on all but 1 valve which is only a thou out and its now running rough again.

symptoms are:

sounds like its running on 3 under load, whilst foot of pedal and decelerating it runs fine, if you floor it it actually decelerates and stumbles to get any power

i tried retarding the timing as it sounded hard to start and sounded like it was pinging, but that only gave it less power and more of a stumble

advancing it makes the started motor struggle like a bitch to turn it over

we have tried another:

map sensor, dizzy, throttle body and checked the timing with the check connector shorted

any ideas??

weve racked our brains for hours on end only to get headaches

could this cause any problems?

i will replace it soon but I'm still not sure as to why it would run like that, it loses all power when you floor it as if there is vacuum problems but we checked vacuum and it all works good, the dizzy works fine as we put another dizzy in from a working 4age and it didnt change a thing

found out what the problem was, i was running 2 ohm injectors without a resistor pack because someone told me i didnt need them (not naming)

and once i put resistors on there it ran like a beauty.

cheers to all that helped
