There are also 4 speed versions of the same gearboxes called the K-40 and T-40 fitted to other Toyotas, however these are rare. The 4 and 5 speed gearboxes are externally identical. Apparently the K-40 is only fitted to K series engines."

 

Is it then right to say that a can fit a 4age into my ke70, using the standard 4 speed??

i thought i had to get a different G/B if i wanted a 4age swap..

no.... theres the bellhousings to consider...

 

and in the case of the "k" boxes, they don't have a seperate bellhousing so you have to get an "A" engine box

and they're from a 3a-u tercel. and you wouldn't bother, K boxes are weak enough behind K engines, you'd lunch one pretty quick behind a 4ag

yes. except k boxes don't really have "bellhousings" as such, they're one big casting, so the whole housing of the box is different
