SLW42 Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 does any body know the rules on putting race seats into a car i have been under the assumtion that if you don't need to modify the standard seat rails and if the seat is ADR approved then you don't need a mod plate oh and does anybody know of a decent and cheapish mobile mechanic so i can get a road worthy done to my 70??? PHATKE20S Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 I have previously found that Autotechnica race seats bolt straight up to KE20, early KE30 & early KE70 seat rails.... Although, apparently you still need a mod-plate because they are not standard equipment or something like that. Quote
7shades Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 I have Autotechnicas... They bolt up and are ADR approved but yes, you still need the modplate. My RWC guy didn't know that, but a friendly policeman was nice enough to call the DOT whilst he had me pulled over and clarified the matter. Quote
mitch_mac Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 called up a place becuase i have some seats i want to put in must be reclineable soft back if you have back seats or mod plated otherwise (no back seats) then you can run fixed and it (thats what i have been told anyway)s $100 a seat I'm not totaly sure on the fixed back and hard back issue just call a auto engineer and ask no harm in asking =] Quote
