Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 hey all. as a few of you know i traded my little subaru sherpa to benzo on here for his red ke70 wagon, i loved the look of it, low top slant face just what i was after. drove the wagz round for a bit noticing it was missing a bit, so i tuned it up went round driving it having some fun etc when i looked at bonnet while driving one day i saw stuff coming from under bonnet and i thought smoke, so i pulled over, turns out it was steam, long story short blew headgasket cracked head and cracked bottom end in the 4k. finally made it to my uncles place where i could keep it till i got the new motor and installed it. next day went and got a fully rebuilt 4k motor jammed it in the boot of my mates car got it home. put some 4a-ge high comp pistons and a gemini carby on it. all that needed to be done now was flywheel alternator and a tiny amount of wiring and tuning. finally after 1 week of stuffing around got old motor out cleaned engine bay tuned new 4k once it was in, new plugs, leads, dizzy, starter motor, raditor and oil change all that jazz i drove it home. cars beeen running well ever since till 3 days ago when i broke sumthing hardcore in the on the run blackwood carpark i got it towed home, gearbox selector is what i first thought it was so i put a new one of them in still no luck, changed clutch still no luck. car only finds 5th gear and will only hold to 2000rpm so i need a new gearbox. if anyone has one sell me it cheap. heres some pics of the car from pervious owners, when i get a camera in the next few days il put my own up. specs. interior. fm radio, 4inch speakers in back, callapsed drivvers seat ghetto bucket n shit exterior. rust all bogged over with white primer waiting to be sanded in the next week, rest of exterior is red body is straight, low top slanty wagz. 13x7hotwires on rear with a lil dish and 13inch escort stockies upfront atm will be 14x7 hotwires soon. mods to be done. cams with lumpy idle. straight through exhaust, twin sidies,locker,new suspension as the susp in it now is sooo screwed. dished wheel, new seats, sigma lcas. *edit pics failed will upload tomorow morning, just not deleting thread as i don't wanna re type* Quote

I'm not surprised the head went - was believed to be original motor and I don't think the head had been off. Not bad for nearly 350,000k's! And yes those front shocks were...squishy. Like the drivers seat :P Looking forward to seeing the progress man, plans sound good :( Quote

Posted October 9, 2009 Author Report Posted October 9, 2009 yea i sure have, it was funny tom when we took the motor out there was plenty of non origional parts, it has a diff cross member and the engine wasnt origional but i don't know when it was put in , also car has ae71 doors, random exhaust all that stuff. well now i have a job ae86 front end will be going in now i can afford it. pics asap lads.
