iv been hearing some stuff about taking the shims out of a borgie to make it a bit tighter

i just want to know if andone has done this or if someone can tell me the pros and cons of it

Take the backing plate off your diff and have a look.

There's a shim on either (outer) side of the bearings. These allow you to move the crownwheel closer or further away from the pinion by the thickness of them. You need to keep the over shim thicknees the same though otherwise the centre will move side to side.

have a good look before taking it apart, if the play is in the differential gears not the crownwheel and pinion, you can buy new gears to replace them and take the slop out of them...
