When I bought my halfcut I payed $1500 plus $250 shipping from NSW. I was told that mine was the last cut they would do at that price, was going up to like 2k. So that sounds about right.

Yes. AE101 Levin half cut.

Oh ok cool. I might have to look at getting myself one of them then! :y:

Because the gearbox has to be out of a Rwd car ay??

Gearbox can be sourced from an AE71, AE86 and certain celicas i believe. It's a T-50.

On the hunt for one as i type!

Cheers for that ay, thanks heaps. :y:

Also, i still need help with this!!

Would anyone know how much your everyday mechanic would normally charge for a Motor/gearbox conversion?

Depends man, you'd want to find someone who has a bit of an idea about the engine you are putting in

or someone who has done the conversion before, most mechanics wouldn't take the job on as they

can make more money from doing quick services and rego's on normal cars!!

Also if the conversion is new to them you are paying them to learn and sort out the gremlins!!

Best bet is to ring around or ask on the forums for someone who's in the know

Cheers

I doubt an "everyday mechanic" would bother with a job of this sort. You really need to look at performance or engineering workshops, or maybe even someone on the forum who is willing to do the job.

Thanks heaps boys.

I might have to do just abit more research then! :locked:

If there is anyone else out there that knows of any good performance workshops for this type of conversion in sydney, then please feel free to share their details!! :n:
