need help car wont operrate underload

 

i bought a ae71 on friday i drove it around a bit that night and very intermedatly came a miss fire

i didnt bother to much and just left it next day drove it in the morning fine still had a intermedatly miss i went put some 100 octane fuel in it

still had a miss i thought it could be spark

 

played around found a blocked fuel filter replace corrion in spark plugs, dizze cap and points replaced all

replaced leads and still missed got the points professionly done and still miss got back to a mates house

went to start when it was hot and didnt fire blow out fuel line

 

it would start but under load would miss fire

left it till this morning started when cold but when warmed up started to miss

hooked up a timing light and checked spark ran fine at idle when reved it would miss and spark didnt go through

 

does anyone have any advise

dwell/ points have been set? was the condensor replaced?

 

my guess would be faulty coil resistor

So... does it run nicely when on choke and cold? and only miss when warm? Which could be anything to do with mixture.

 

Otherwise it could also be electrical if under load only. Seeing you've done plugs & points & leads that only leaves condensor, resistor and coil, and it could be either of those. I'd say they're more likely than an air leak or carb problem.

i don't beleive it is fuel issue due to being able to see the miss using the timing light

tried adjusting fuel mixture didnt change still missed found the rotor has a bit of play and may have a leak in vaccum advance

did the 4ac in ae71 come out with points or eletric
