Hi, I want to buy a cam for my new car it is a 1980 t18/te72 corolla with a 3tc 1.8 single cam engine, the only specs I have on the cam is it has 30/70 stamped on it. So does anyone know what this means I would like to know.

Thanks.

read that 30/70 would mean the intake valve opens 30deg btdc and closes 70deg atdc does anyone know if that is right? then the exhaust valve opens 70deg atdc and closes 30deg before (I forgot)

Nearly got it. The above cam has 280 degrees duration with 60 degrees overlap. Really it is just simple maths when you get your head around the concepts.

Thanks, do you know if that would be a practical cam for daily use?

I'd say it would be OK for daily use if your engine is tuned to use it. It's a fair way different from a stock cam though, so if you've still got stock carby, exhaust etc. then I'd imagine it would be worse than stock.
