April 24, 201016 yr comment_432313 So, i'm just about ready to go for my P1 license, and i was just wondering... Do i HAVE to have lessons with a driving instructor prior to this? I've been hearing conflicting stories, and there is nothing on the VicRoads website in regards to it. I feel i am ready to go for it, but i cannot afford lessons unfortunately. Thanks guys. Report
April 24, 201016 yr comment_432317 witch laws you on? 2 years driving no log book or 120 hours log book? Report
April 24, 201016 yr comment_432320 its best to go with a instructor a couple of times, because they know what the testers will be looking for and help you lose any bad habits my advice allways do headchecks when indicating look in the mirror when coming to a stop use your mirrors drive like a granny if the vic roads tester feels like your a hoon he'll give you a stink eye followed by a F rock up with a flanny t shirt (anti looking like a tool look as possible) Edited April 25, 201016 yr by TheNOBBLER No need for racist comments please :) Report
April 24, 201016 yr comment_432321 also have you booked your P's? because its like a 3month wait (book 2 tests just incase you don't pass and don't wanna wait 3 months) Report
April 24, 201016 yr Author comment_432322 They're booked. I'll just keep practising till i get it right. Report

April 25, 201016 yr comment_432518 Highly advise a couple of lessons before you go, it's money well spent. You will be suprised what they pick you up on, I thought I was ready but there were a few things that would have had me loose points very easily. your first lesson will just be making sure you can drive, from there you will get parking and merging with traffic etc. You will get some good gear out of that. Good luck with the lessons and licence test! Report
April 26, 201016 yr Author comment_432689 Booking them tomorrow :bash: Thanks dude, it'll be good. As long as i can remember to check my mirrors EVERY time i apply the brakes (possibly the only one i forget to do every time) then ill be alright  Ah i cannot wait to be driving around! Report
May 4, 201016 yr comment_434798 I went for my Ps in Feb and I also recommend getting at least one lesson with a driving instructor. They let you know if there's anything you're doing wrong and point out all the picky little things that the assessors usually get you for during the test Report
