sleepy92
i have a ke35 hardtop with a leaking interior heater unit... lots a bunch of the nice toyota red coolant all over my fresh interior carpet  :( anyways, just wondering if anyone has experience with these, and if its a typical thing? will the assembly from any other models (ke1x, ke2x, ke5x, ke70) will fit in my car? is it the complete unit that usually causes the problem, or just a busted radiator part? sorry for noob question.. couldn't find anything in the compatibility section.. its winter, and i'm keen to get this all sorted out ASAP )i do a lot of EARLY morning car trips, and i'm not keen on frostbite)
rob83ke70
I'm sure I've got a spare ke3x/ke5x item not doing anything. shouldn't be running red coolant in a ke corolla with an older style copper/brass radiator - should use green coolant. philbey
Problem with replacing it with another 30 year old heater core is that its likely to fail again. You might be able to get one new?

You might be able to get one new? +1 There were some new cores on ebay a while ago, just had a look and they're not at the mo. Check with some radiator shops, they might still be able to get new ones.
philbey
Or they might even be able to fab up a new core for it pretty easily.
