Just wondering if anyone is thinking of taking their car to powercruise this year?

Well I wouldn't walk there :)

 

Dunno if I will be spectating this year.

I wont be but a couple of my mates will have there cars out

Are they taking their rolla's out or another car?

 

I tried entering my ke70 in but they declined my entry because my car is too 'stock' looking.. even tho it has a turbo 4agze in it apparently "people don't stop to look at whats under the bonnet, they want to see something they don't see on the road everyday" ....yet, when we told them we took a stock commodore in a couple of years ago, we were told that if we took that in again this year we would be allowed? WTF?!

 

has anyone else had this problem?

Nah none of them own rolla's except one of my mates and it's only low as with 15x8 watanabe copies on it, my mate has a corona with a 1j and big single in it with a vl turbo diff and built auto, and my other mate has a purple 33 4 door, i think you just got gup on a shit day Haha mind you he is a bit of a dick

we can't even speak to gup! the stupid mole keeps answering and tells us he is busy..and he wont even return our phone call. they even sent back our nomination form and money.. its a bit discriminative i think... we even explained all the work we are doing to the car, but that didnt matter because it looks stock.

thats gay as aids, i have an idea, sack it on it's guts and find or borrow some wide as hell wheels (try mungi mods he may help you out) paint it a fancy colour and it should be fine :)

 

my mate tried to get in once with some really pissed off car that was sleeper spec, and yeah same thing too stock, but my mate with his purple 33 4 door got in and my mate with his vx ss with about 400hp atw got in all it was, was lowered and bigish hp

It's too stop wankers in $500 commodores entering in there, would you take a car you have spent over 50 grand on to run around with a bunch of 17yo bogans in a heap of shit, It is a different story with the turbo torana that looks standard.

 

Sorry if it offends but I am actually one of the people who complained about seeing shit boxes roll around out there.

I do get were they are coming from in that sense, there are a lot of cars that get in that shouldnt... but after they tell us that we can't enter with a modified car, and then they turn around and tell us if we were entering in a standard commodore we would be allowed..that just doesnt make any sence to me..it just contradicts themselves? Its just extremely dissapointing that we have gone to all this effort and spent all this money, and done it in a hurry so we could take it there, and then get told we arent allowed. Sucks balls :)

I know, it is a bit of a shit but last year my mates car (S13) was written off on one of the drift sessions after he spun out on a corner and waited for cars to pass to get back on the track but 1 guy didn't bother to stop drifting and spun out in the same spot running into him.

 

To the judges your car is still only a $500 POS corolla, I will see if my brother is going to be talking to Gup shortly.

well now all you need to do is show up find the stock looking shitboxes making big amounts of power take pics and say "this is to stock"

 

i agree with trev they do judge your car by the way it looks not how much hp it's got, or whats under the bonnet, i guess maybe there is a SHITLOAD of bias towards some cars from some people,

 

in saying that though there are ALWAYS datsun 1600's there with sr's and shit in them, there are enough of those on the street as it is, and "tough" commodores there EVERYWHERE, i guess you need to have something that stands out, visual wise to be even accepted by powercruise officials

I'm going to be painting it soon (as soon as i have paid my debt for the conversion) and get some rims.. and maybe some chrome bumpers too.. so hopefully after that is all done, maybe next year, i'll be allowed to take it in. I don't know if we are still going to go or not, if we do we might go in the forester...

 

we werent going to drift it at all, just enter the cruise sessions and have a little bit of a play.. not do anything stupid tho. maybe next year..
