daggers57 Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 Looking for something to break up the colour on my ke55 coupe, so does anyone know if Toyota had any racing stripes, particularly corollas? Quote

B.L.Z.BUB Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 (edited) Do you want to break the sides or over the top? Pics would help Edited September 3, 2010 by blzbub666 Quote
daggers57 Posted September 3, 2010 Author Report Posted September 3, 2010 Sorry should have been more specific. Want to go over the top of the car a bit like a HK Monaro except over the roof too. Quote
GJM85 Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 (edited) it will add 5hp and 12 style points... but really when it comes to pinstriping...whether it be a stripe 1" or 1' wide, it's all down to personalisation. When I bought my Seca I ran a silver stripe from the head light down to the tail light. After a year I decided that in itself needed to be broken with a black underlining stripe........ :lolcry: Edited September 3, 2010 by GJM85 Quote
Sloth Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 sorry i borrowed it bud No probs, was about to post it myself. Originally we were going to go all blue with a black bonnet, but the blue looked so good that a mat black bonnet would've spoilt it. We were a little short on paint, and the spray painter was a huge ford fan, so we ended up going with a Cobra inspired scheme. Below the doors on mine is also painted silver (I have some more pics of the car in an album on here). My stripes are a little less discrete than they could, but make the car quite memorable and unique. If you are going to paint the stripes on (instead of some of the pin striping tape you get) make sure you mask it out properly. There's a couple of points on mine where the tape wasn't stuck down properly and there's a little over spray. It's amazing how much better a subtle little stripe can make the car look. I still have the crappy plastic striping on my AE86 which I will take off one of these days, once it's gone I think the car will look 100x better. My car (KE35) had plastic striping and it looked so much better once it was off. All depends on the car, colour and style you are going for. Quote
