  1. I just put a set in my BA falcon, they are REALLY good. Don't know how your AEs will go as they have older wiring but these are worth every cent as they give a very bright slightly blue light. I'd buy one set and give them a go.
  2. I would have to agree that Lincoln are one of the best, but they are rather expensive for occasional home use, I recently bought a CIGWELD Weldskill 170 TIG welder. Forgotten how much, but it wasn't unreasonable. It's compact and goes as low as 5A, perfect for thin automotive metal. Tungsten welding rods are not cheap and you will need a few when you start out. You can also use it to arc weld, just remember to swap the leads over or else when you TIG, you will melt the tungsten rod, ceramic gas lens, collet and collet body, and generally end up wondering what the hell went wrong. Not that I'm speaking from experience. If you can stretch the budget to get an AC/DC model, you can also weld Aluminium. Hiring gas from BOC is a pain but heaps cheaper than the disposable bottles. All in all I'd say for auto body work, the low amps and neat welds of a TIG make it the obvious choice.
  3. Looks a lot better than when I saw it in person after the spray gun problem. Will look even better when it's all together and polished up. All the best boys. P.S. those guards I got from you are STILL in my boot. Hate not having any spare time. Pete.
  4. I use SP combo spanners and toolboxes, bluepoint ratchet spanners & sockets (awesome but expensive) and a mixture of others. Personally if I won Tattslotto I would have everything in Snap-on/Bluepoint because they are without a doubt the best tools I have ever used. My mate swears by Snap-on, in fact his home garage looks like a Snap-on truck just exploded in there, must be close to $20,000 worth. Snap-on make everything and I mean everything, from screwdrivers to full computerised diagnostic equipment.
  5. cheers. still waiting on info from the US might look at dellortos while I wait.
  6. While we're at it. What would be the biggest twin side drafts anyone would run on a hot 5k? (Supercharged). I have no idea as I have always worked with down drafts (mainly Holleys). Sorry to the OP for butting in on your topic. P.S. I have found a company in the US (Webercarbsdirect.com) very cheap, (45dcoe US$349.95)just sent them an email to see if they will post to Aus. Will post on here if/when I get an answer.
  7. Pure gold! My mate has an Exeedy heavy duty clutch sticker on the back of his skyline. Funny thing is, it's an auto!
  8. Spewing to hear the bad news. Just spent a good hour the other night showing a mate videos of this beast. He was suitably gobsmacked the whole time. Hope you get it going soon. All the best with the rebuild. Perhaps now you'll get some decent horsepower results.
  9. Try this site www.ToyoDIY.com It has exploded views for virtually eveything including part numbers. Unfortunately it wont tell you if they are still available, but at least you'll have the exact part numbers when you call Toyota on monday.
  10. Love that steering wheel. Will keep a close eye on this build, looks interesting.
  11. Glad to hear it's been found. Hope your lawyer tears them a new asshole!
  12. May I suggest a new sticker for poor souls such as myself, who at times, drive vehicles other than Corollas? Perhaps something such as this? OR Also how is payment made for RC stickers?
  13. Anyone know what this 'formula 3 type head' is that the article mentions?
  14. Who says I don't already have a mullet? Or as it's pronounced in France, "Le moo-lay". :rolls:
  15. Very nice indeed, maybe if I grow a moustache like Robbie's, my 'rolla will do 13s too! But seriously, I'd love to know what work he did to that engine.
  16. I drove a 2002 model for about 2 years, heavily loaded with locksmith gear and the occaisional small safe, never had any problems, even on gas, visability was excellent as they have massive side mirrors just make sure you get the rear parking mirror, it makes parking alot easier, I found it great to drive, even long distances, not sure about fuel usage as it was a company vehicle so I never cared about economy. The suspension was a bit bouncy when empty, but I suppose that's to be expected. It was even capable of the occasional wet weather drift, which can be a little unnerving!
  17. Bugger me! I had the volume up full because I couldn't hear anything, then it started! Sounds nice and angry, and loud. What internal work have you done?
  18. G'day mate I'm assuming that you have removed the actual wiper assembly and are just trying to remove the wiper motor arms. They should come loose with a little elbow grease and some WD40 (leave overnight if necessary).
  19. My wife drives a 2009 Mazda 6, plenty of room enough power to tow a 'medium' trailer. My mate has a 2000ish Forrester GT, goes like stink but a VERY small boot, no room for the pram! Carsales has 2005 Mazda 6 for around 12 grand with 6 airbags ABS etc.
  20. that actually looks pretty good!
  21. I say flat black all round makes the car look clean and neat lime green etc makes the car look RICE next you will need a massive spoiler and a 6" cannon exhaust!
  22. I agree mate, good to see someone actually testing and proving their theories with the data to back it up. All too often someone comes along with an idea or concept that has no merit or validation, usually delivered with dubious statements like "my mate's mate's nextdoor neighbour's hairdresser's cousin did it and he got 1 billion kw at the wheels!" Mr Altezza, I take my hat off to you. You're taking budget rolla modification to a new level, and it's always interesting and informative to read your posts. And to ke20rollabus, blow it out your a$$. It's people like you who f@$k up decent forums!
  23. Damn, I was hoping you had some secret supplier with heaps of chrome for everyone! :P
