i'm in vic and looking at putting a ke30's running gear into a ke55, are their going to be many stumbling blocks along the way rego wise or will everything be alright (besides the changeover)

Apart from thefact that you're going backwards (1290cc 4K KE55 and an 1166cc 3K KE30). There shouldn't be any drama at all.

 

However, this is the internet, and not everything people tell you is true, therefore, contacting VicRoads would be your wisest move.

The only problem you'll find is if the '55 is an auto and the '30 is manual. You'd have to figure something out with the '55's gearbox x-member, its the only part that wouldn't be a bolt-in swap over.

the 55's is/was a paddock bomb where as the 30's my old girl with 150 genuine km's on the clock (got it of the first owner who was a family friend)

 

manual to manual so x-member will be no problem. :)
