zdong Posted October 27, 2010 Report Share Posted October 27, 2010 Just wiring up my alternator into my AE86 want to make sure I do it correct looking at this is very helpful So my wires are cut, what wires do I need to buy to replace them with? Where does the ignition wire go, ignition barrel? I'm not sure this is new to me, also where does the lamp wire run to? Trev Posted October 27, 2010 Report Share Posted October 27, 2010 With mine in the 71 I did the following: Ignition - Connected it to 12v (+) switched ignition. Sense - Looped onto battery terminal of alternator. Lamp - Connects to charge light of dash, wire should be in the engine bay by the alternator. Battery - Connects to battery positive.
