ke20 king Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 ok guys i got this 5k i was told its got a standard 5k head and std push rods so pretty much stock. now had the engine apart and rebuild it someone who put the timing back together did it wrong and all the rods bend (note is engine never ran) . so i pulled apart a spare 5k i had lying around from a liteace and it seems to be the rods are about 6-7mm bigger and has deeper combustion chambers, which is weird because i know there are 2 types on rods but i just want to know by the pics attached which head is which. and i will put a pik of my cam and the standard cam see if anyone knows what type of cam i have. thanks for your time guys. the nice clean head is my head on the motor I'm using with the smaller push rods and the dirty one is the one with the longer push rods (both ment to be 5ks) Quote

GJM85 Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Your nice clean head is the D dished 5k which will require the shorter pushrods. The head is approximately 6mm shorter than the other hence the difference in pushrods. One 5k is O dish and will require the taller head.... Quote
