hey guys i just recently bought a ke20 with a 265 hemi six it is running a single circuit master cylinder was interested to find out if anyone else has upgraded brakes and could give me a few pointers on were to go from here....its a burnout/drag car but i don't think standard brakes are going to be good enough....

I'm interested to know what other peoples setups are....

Can't imagine there's going to be a great deal of options without a great deal of work. Especially with that kind of weight in the front.

Perhaps look into a ke55 diff and 228mm rear drum set up. The front will be your trouble.

Could run ca18 s13 front brakes, which would require s13 struts and knuckles and hubs and that i think.. but be should be plenty strong enough

the back is fine cause its running a 9 inch with detroit locker ...

tried doing a burnout (with slicks) the front wheels just locked and skidded forward

I'm going to try and put some street tyres on and see it it makes a difference

That won't be your brakes, they just can't cope with the grip in the rear. That's one reason for the burnout box at drag strips.

I'm pretty sure I know the far you picked up, had plenty of potential if it's the same one.

To give you an idea brake wise, you can bolt on a ke55-70 disk setup using the ke30-55 backing plates and the rest ke70 for the biggest cheap bolt on setup. Master cylinders in duel circuit can be used from galants and pajero's etc. There is a certain ke20 running 8second passes running ke3x brakes on the front so you should be fine running around the 13 second mark.

Enough rambling. Hope it helps.
