iwontarolla Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 Hey guys havnt really had much involement till now, since I got my first car. My problem is.. At the moment I have twin 40mm solex side drafts. I have been hit by the curse of the solex my ventura(sorry if it's not spelt right) has fallen out of one of my carbs. I am thinking about running a single 40mm carb. Would this do the job with out leaning out or spread the fuel mix uneven? My reason for this is that I have found for the one carb that's working that its putting to much fuel in and it's going to waste, and I can probely build one good carb up out of the two. Thanks guys Chris Quote
altezzaclub Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 I'm sure you can- it will still be bigger than the stock Asian. It will work twice as hard, which it can quite easily do, but you will need to re-jet it & it needs that anyway by the sound of it. Get it up and running and put it on a dyno with a gas analyser, or buy an FMD & oxy sensor. It should produce good power and still be economical. Solex woudn't be my choice, but lots of people love them. Quote
iwontarolla Posted February 20, 2011 Author Report Posted February 20, 2011 Do you have any ideas on a manifold to suit this set up? What size jet should I start looking at? They wouldn't be mine either but I have two and could get one good one out of the two Quote
