I have this chunky hilux- diff that measures 1420 face to face, is 10 bolt, has 59h stamped on the housing and also is very phat. After measuring I think it should fit my ke30 uncut with the right wheels no dramas.

Any ideas what year model Its from? ...yea I know Google is my friend bla bla...etc. Sorry.

Give take it'll be from the RN40

And give take it'll have ratio of 4.87:1

great so RN 40 I was thinkin RN 41 . So the centre I want is rn40 LSD, or lock my centre 4.8 should be good for hard launches no snaps yea?

Also what other model tailshaft yolks are the same eg corona hiace etc from same era or only hilux specific?

cheers.

Unless your driveline is as equally robust as a hilux diff, hard launches are only going to end up obliterating other parts of your car.

Yea true, diff will live behind ca18 and 5 speed so should be robust enough I hope. At the moment is 5k so the 4 speed is the fuse. The orininal 4 speed has outlasted a few diffs and taken a beating so can't be too weak(in k motor perspective )

yeah looks like an RN40 to me also,

I would have thought they would have 4.3 gears in them,

I got mine changed to 3.7 and is a great match to my setup, you can use pintara disc brake setup,

or the hoppers front kit in falcon stud pattern

hey nisrola, before I start grinding n cutting, did you have any trouble removing the hilux leaf mounts. They look filled with weld where as the rolla mounts look easy to remove with a little cut here n there.? Difficult to align the rolla mounts perfectly on the Lux diff? Measure, measure and measure again I suppose. Did you use the brake lines from the rolla diff, as its looking like they pretty much fit straight on the lux diff.

Cheers.

Hi Ken,

I took both diffs to a diff shop and they sorted it out, I asked them to match the KE30 width, you can ask for it to be more to the leafs for dish yes

you can chisel and grind the rolla mounts off and fit accordingly if your handy with that sort of gear, but for $450 to shorten the axels, housing and re-fit seems logical at the time

I bent new brake lines up i figured gone this far, might as well start new and braking should never be overlooked
