Christoph Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Hi! My Name is Chris and I live in Austria. I am addicted to oldschool Toyotas and my pride is my 84 MA61 Celica Supra (which is one month younger than me): I have spent last year a lot of money to let other people restore it, but I am not really happy with the result, so I want to do it myself next time. Before I start that, I want to learn how to do all the work on another, more simple car. This is why I bought a KE70, and here it is (pictures are not from me, will be updated as soon as I pick it up): Of course It has a lot of bad bits, this is why I have bought it. The worst is: As far as I have seen yet the liftbacks are not common, is it possible to get those panels from somewhere? Regards Chris Quote
carbonboy Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 First up: Welcome to Rollaclub!! :y: Second up: Bad bits, bad schmits...I now have to clean up a pool of drool that formed on my floor when I saw pics of your KE. I'm no KExx expert, but I can say I've never seen a liftback before, now that I have I'm in love. Quote
TE278U Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Hi Chris, welcome to the addiction. I myself have been addicted for many years also. In Australia, the ke70 liftback you have was released here with a 1.8l 3tc motor and t50 5 spd gearbox, and was called a t-18. chassis code te72. They were reasonably plentiful over here, and parts are still somewhat available... many parts will be interchangable from other model corollas. what parts do you need immediately? all the best... -Dave Quote
love ke70 Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 you wont get parts from australia mate. id be trying http://3tcgarage.com/ thats a US and puerto rican site mainly and they will be able to help you out. if not i guess you could try and bridge the language barrier and try the malaysians etc, but ive always struggled to find anything useful from those guys. if not, if you have specific needs, i would be talking to elvin, http://3tcgarage.com/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=102 hes an absolutely top bloke, bought a 2 door ke70 sedan for me in the states, stored it at his own house for 3 months, while i bought nail guns, which involved me sending him the $5000 for them, and him buying them, loading them into the car, getting the car inspected by state police, and doing all sorts of shit, and he never let me down once. so if its in the states and you want it, he will get it for you. cheers, andy Quote

Christoph Posted April 20, 2011 Author Report Posted April 20, 2011 Thank you for your replies! I took some time now to read a lot in here, this is a great forum with looots of information and nice people! :) I don´t think its the same as the T18, it has a 60hp 4K engine and 5speed gearbox. Thank you for the links! I am sure I will need all the help I can get, because it is impossible to get parts for the car here in austria! I need nothing urgent now, because I have to build the garage for it before I start working. But I will soon start to search for particular Items like the left quarter panel. Quote
love ke70 Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 body wise i think it does match a t18, think... Quote
