I'm new to the rolla scene, just wondering what cheap mods i can do to get a bit more power from my 4ac?

this thread has been made way too many times, search the forums, same answer as is for any engine, breathing w/e but just buy a twin cam ffs

First up, welcome to the forums! :y:

 

Second, toasticles is right. This question pops up so often it does get a little annoying especially when there's an awesome SEARCH function to be used. :yes:

 

Thirdly...Cheap mods to get more power...is there such a thing on small capacity n/a engines? :hmm: Ultimately, a 4AGE conversion will cream a worked 4AC engine for about the same cost, if not LESS. Which may explain the lack of 4AC upgrade information on the net, people don't like peeing into the wind :wink:

pretty much exactly what cboy said, if you're looking to play with other p platers at the lights a sohc 4 kilawasp engine isn't really the best way to start off

Also, if you are playing with other drivers/P-platers at the lights, we don't really want to know about it. We don't condone that sort of behaivour here. :no2: Join a car club :yes: , go to a racetrack/controlled environment & get it out of your system there. No police, no pedestrians & no power poles to worry about :wink:

My 2AC (according to factory specs) puts out a massive 51 killawasps :P With 98 torques too :laff:

 

So you can see why I just bought a Twin Cam :lolcry:

hey I'm also new to rollas, i used to mainly drive commodores but felt like a change. i have been doing some minor changes to my AE82 sedan, just the basic low budget add ons (i.e blue leds behind the dash, seat covers, stereo, speakers etc). I would love to get a 4age however, money is a bit tight for me and i would rather do some basic performance modifications just to get some bang for my buck. i was thinking bigger cam, weber carby, exhaust, extractors, cannon etc. any recommendations for types of parts to purchase?

you can get a 4age for the same price as dual webers, or you could just save up and buy a neesan

I don't want to rain on the wet blanket on your parade, but by the time you've bought all of this & installed it, a 4AGE could be fitted & would blow the cam cover off the 'worked' 4AC in terms of performance & reliability.
